QueensCare Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by QueensCare
Introduction
Each year the John Joseph Brandlin Scholarship Fund awards $250,000 to support healthcare education, honoring 32 years of John Brandlin’s leadership of QueensCare. These scholarships are intended to help reduce the persistent shortage of healthcare workers serving underserved communities.
About John Joseph Brandlin
John Joseph Brandlin (1913–2010) co-founded QueensCare with Arthur W. Barron in 1998, creating a nonprofit that provides free and low-cost medical care to low-income residents of Los Angeles County. A believer in the power of education, Mr. Brandlin was himself a four-year scholarship recipient at the University of Illinois and later attended the USC School of Law. He practiced law in Los Angeles for fifty years.
Who the Fund Supports
The John Joseph Brandlin Scholarship Fund is directed exclusively to students training for careers in healthcare — from medical assistants to physicians — in the fields determined by the QueensCare Board of Directors.
