Perseverance Scholarship

Introduction
Schwartz Injury Law is committed to helping people move forward after life-altering events. Based in Orland Park, our personal injury practice represents victims of major car accidents, medical malpractice, and other catastrophic injuries. We admire the resilience our clients demonstrate and recognize that legal help is just one part of their recovery. To support students who have shown similar perseverance, we are offering the $1,000 Schwartz Injury Law Perseverance Scholarship for the Fall 2026 semester.
Who may apply
To be considered, applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited U.S. college or university for the Fall 2026 semester. Additional eligibility requirements:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- At least 18 years old
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Application materials
Submit the following items with your application:
- Contact information
- Proof of current enrollment or intent to enroll for Fall 2026
- A professional headshot
- An original essay of 500–1,000 words responding to the prompt below
Essay prompt
Describe a personal injury or medical condition you experienced and explain how you overcame the obstacles it created. In addition, discuss how this experience has readied you for the demands of college and for your future career goals.
Selection and award disbursement
One student will be chosen as the Fall 2026 scholarship recipient. The winner will be notified by June 29, 2026. Once selected, the $1,000 award will be sent directly to the recipient’s school and applied through the institution’s financial aid office.
Publicity release
All recipients must agree to allow Schwartz Injury Law to use their name, photograph, and essay in the firm’s promotional materials, including its website and social media channels.
How submissions are evaluated
Applications will be judged on the following:
- The essay directly and thoughtfully answers the prompt and addresses the student’s experience
- Writing is original, creative, and well-organized
- The application clearly demonstrates the applicant’s qualifications for the scholarship
