William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by National Business Aviation Association
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Charities provides two annual scholarships worth $2,500 each for individuals seeking a career in maintenance technology. One scholarship is targeted towards a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited airframe and powerplant (A&P) program at a Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 147-approved institution. The other is meant for a person who has been accepted into an A&P program, but is yet to commence their studies. The scholarship is named in tribute to William M. Fanning, a retired NBAA employee who was deeply involved in maintenance matters during his almost two-decade stint with the Association.
The scholarships are open to US citizens and do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, or nationality. The awards will be disbursed in the autumn of 2025, and the amount will be paid directly to the school. The funds awarded must be utilized by the end of 2026, otherwise, the scholarship may be revoked.
Eligible applicants must be a US citizen or a permanent resident. The application process requires an essay, resume, official transcript or acceptance letter, and a signed letter of recommendation. All materials must be submitted to the NBAA by August 11, 2025, to be considered for the scholarship.
Please note, NBAA restricts scholarship recipients from receiving more than one award per person in a two-year period.
