DSF Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Denver Scholarship Foundation
Intro
If you need extra help with your DSF Scholarship application, drop in during DSF Scholarship office hours on Thursdays from 12:30–1:30 p.m. (available through May 1).
Application timeframe
You must submit your DSF Scholarship application within one year of your high school graduation. For example: students in the high school class of 2025 must apply no later than May 1, 2026, and they must receive their first DSF award by December 31, 2026.
Who is eligible
To be eligible for DSF funding, you must meet all of the following:
- Attendance
- Have attended a Denver Public Schools (DPS) high school for your entire high school career, or for the period since you moved to Colorado.
- High school graduation and GPA
- Be a high school graduate and have a final cumulative GPA that meets DSF’s minimum for the type of college you plan to attend:
- 4‑year college/university: minimum high school GPA 2.75, or obtain an approved DSF exception
- Community college: minimum high school GPA 2.5, or obtain an approved DSF exception
- Technical college: minimum high school GPA 2.0
- Enrollment
- Enroll full-time at one of DSF’s 30 partner colleges in Colorado. (See DSF materials for full-time enrollment details.)
- Demonstrated financial need
- Have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 16,640 or lower as reported by your college. DSF relies on the SAI figure your college provides, which can differ from the SAI shown on your FAFSA or CASFA.
- Once you have a qualifying SAI in any year, you are not required to meet the SAI threshold in subsequent years.
- DSF will consider appeals asking for an alternate demonstration of financial need only in limited circumstances.
- Note: 16,640 equals 250% of the 2025–26 maximum SAI eligible for a Pell Grant. The federal government may change the maximum SAI used to determine Pell eligibility each year.
Required deadline for financial aid
Complete your college’s financial aid process by July 15.
If you have questions or need clarification about any requirement, attend a Thursday office hour or contact DSF directly.
