North Carolina Softball Coaches Association Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by North Carolina Softball Coaches Association, Inc.
The association distributes scholarships once a year to graduating high school seniors to assist with their pursuit of postsecondary education. Awards are allocated evenly between the eastern and western regions of North Carolina. Eligibility is determined by the following requirements:
1. Athletic participation: The applicant must have played varsity softball during her senior year of high school and must have played either varsity or junior varsity softball as a junior.
2. College acceptance/commitment: The applicant must have applied to and received an official acceptance letter from a bona fide public or private two‑ or four‑year college or university, and must have either formally committed to attend that institution or be legitimately in the process of doing so.
3. No athletic scholarship: The applicant cannot be receiving any form of collegiate athletic scholarship (including softball or any other sport).
4. Enrollment timing: The recipient must be an incoming freshman who will register for classes during the academic year immediately following her high school graduation.
5. Coach membership: Participation on a team coached by an association member is not required. The Scholarship Committee may, however, consider whether an applicant’s coach belongs to the association when making award decisions.
