Scholarship Overview
The Ouimet Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership, with consideration given to school and community activities, interviews, essays, motivation, character, integrity, golf service and recommendations. It is a need-based scholarship that may be renewed for up to four years for eligible recipients. The program is administered by the Fund and operates as an equal opportunity scholarship, without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, or ethnic origin.
Description: Candidates are evaluated holistically on academic promise, leadership potential, personal character and service to golf.

Scholarship Requirements
Candidates must have completed at least two years of service to golf at a Massachusetts golf course prior to applying. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited post-secondary undergraduate college, university, or trade school full-time; this includes junior and community colleges and programs leading to bachelor’s or associate degrees. Students may apply as high school seniors or while enrolled in undergraduate or trade school studies. Documentation of service and enrollment status will be required during the application process.
Eligibility: Minimum of two years of Massachusetts golf course service and intent to enroll full-time in an accredited post-secondary program.

How to Get Started
The Ouimet Scholarship application is completed entirely online. Prospective applicants submit an online application request, after which a Ouimet staff member reviews qualifications. Qualified applicants will be emailed the link to the 2027–28 Ouimet application when it becomes available. Follow the instructions in that email to complete and submit the full application and any required supporting materials.
