Minority Women in STEM Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Bold.org
STEM industries, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, are some of the fastest-growing and most vital professions in modern society.
From medical breakthroughs to innovative inventions to unthinkable discoveries, these fields drive progress in all aspects of life. STEM professions are highly skilled, requiring prospective employees to complete years of rigorous education. Women of color, especially those from modest financial backgrounds, can struggle to access the degrees they need to begin their STEM careers. From the prohibitive cost of tuition to a lack of mentors to seek advice from to classrooms that may feel isolating, there are many factors that can discourage young women from following through on their dreams.
This scholarship aims to support women going into math and science fields so they can overcome the many barriers standing in their way.
Any female BIPOC high school senior who will pursue a four-year degree in STEM may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are a low-income, first-generation college student.
To apply, write a short essay telling us about yourself and what you hope to achieve through your future career in STEM.
