Alabama Municipal Electric Authority Scholarships

To be eligible for an AMEA scholarship, a student’s parent and/or legal guardian must receive electric service from an AMEA Member utility, and the student must attend a four-year college/university, community college, and/or vocational/trade school within the state of Alabama.
Since 1992, the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) and its Members have provided over $3 million in scholarships to graduating high school seniors who receive their electric service from AMEA Members, including AlexanderCity, Dothan, Fairhope, LaFayette, Lanett, Luverne, Opelika, Piedmont, Riviera Utilities, and Sylacauga.
To be eligible for an AMEA scholarship, a student’s parent and/or legal guardian must receive electric service from an AMEA Member utility. Granted only to graduating high school seniors, the student must attend a four-year college/university, community college, and/ or vocational/trade school within the state of Alabama.
AMEA and its Member cities will make available 44, $2,500 scholarships.

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ALONG WITH YOUR APPLICATION:
- Official High School Transcript
- Official ACT or SAT Score Certificate (if copy, please have counselor sign it)
- Please attach a resume’ of all school extracurricular, church, community service, work experience and/or volunteer activities that you desire to be taken into account in your application.
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (No letters from relatives accepted)
